Haryana wrestlers to feature in Pro Wrestling League 2026:Aman Sehrawat, Antim Phangal & Dinesh Dhanker set to faceoff; season 5 starts on 15 January

The Pro Wrestling League (PWL) is all set to return with its fifth season, starting from January 15, bringing fresh excitement to Indian wrestling fans. Known as India’s top franchise-based wrestling competition, PWL 2026 promises high-energy bouts and fierce rivalries, with Haryana’s wrestlers taking centre stage once again.

Haryana has long been the backbone of Indian wrestling, and this season further proves its dominance. From Olympic medalists to Hind Kesari champions, several top wrestlers from the state will compete in the league, making this edition one of the most awaited in PWL history.

Ahead of the season, PWL released its official Hindi teaser, highlighting the courage, sacrifice and relentless preparation of wrestlers. The teaser features leading Indian stars and sets the tone for an intense and emotional return of the league.

From Aman Shehrawat to Dinesh Dhankar: Top Indian stars featured in PWL 2026

The teaser showcases some of India’s biggest wrestling names, including Olympian Aman Sehrawat, Antim Panghal, Sujeet Kalkal, Kalwa Gujjar, Mukul Dahiya, and Priya Malik. Their presence reflects the league’s focus on promoting Indian talent and celebrating the country’s wrestling culture.

Six different franchises will compete in PWL 2026, with new rules introduced to give greater importance to Indian wrestlers. This move aims to strengthen domestic wrestling and provide a strong platform for homegrown stars.

Haryana wrestlers dominate the PWL auction

Wrestlers from Haryana turned out to be the most expensive Indian players in the PWL auction. In total, Haryana wrestlers were bought for ₹1.55 crore, underlining their high demand.

Aman Sehrawat was bought by Mumbai for ₹51 lakh, Antim Panghal joined UP for ₹52 lakh, Sujeet Kalkal was picked by Delhi for ₹52 lakh, Dinesh Dhankhad was signed by Punjab for ₹36 lakh, Sujeet Kalkal and Antim Panghal emerged as the most expensive Indian wrestlers, each fetching a record ₹52 lakh.

Olympic medalists and Hind Kesari in action

Among the standout names are Aman Sehrawat, a Paris Olympics bronze medalist, and Dinesh Dhankhad, a four-time Hind Kesari and two-time Bharat Kesari winner. Aman will compete in his weight category after earning global recognition at the Olympics, while Dinesh will showcase his power in the super heavyweight division. Both wrestlers hail from Jhajjar district, highlighting the region’s deep wrestling roots.

Rising stars ready to make an impact

Antim Panghal, who competes in the 53 kg category, and Sujeet Kalkal, who wrestles in 65 kg, are also expected to make a strong impact. While Aman and Antim had a base price of ₹18 lakh, Sujeet and Dinesh entered the auction with a base price of ₹12 lakh, eventually attracting much higher bids.
